Copper Wire Tree

This project was unplanned and I improvised as I went along. It took a month to complete and ended up being about 3 feet tall. Using a drill and different weights of copper wire for the first time, I created a tree. I intended for it to be freestanding as just the wire but as I finished the tree, it was too heavy. I painted a model hand black and attached the tree to it but it wasn’t quite sturdy enough. Next, I decided to get two round mirrors and broke one of them to create a reflective effect as the base. Fine art helps me as a graphic designer because it allows me to exercise different parts of my creativity side. Something I create in a sculpture or a painting could give me inspiration for something I am working on in my programs.
